Job Description
Our client seeks a versatile and creative writer to join the Product Merchandising team.
- Help members navigate content by summarizing movies and TV shows with concise, creative and engaging synopses.
- Ideal for an entertainment‑obsessed generalist who loves language innovation and thrives on collaborative editing cycles.
- Must manage many assignments with creative energy to make each synopsis sing.
- Expert on media and entertainment in at least one of the Benelux, German‑speaking or Central‑Eastern‑European markets; proficiency in writing and editing world‑class creative content in English and ideally Dutch or Polish.
- Additional knowledge of other European markets is a benefit.
- Remote, 6‑month full‑time contract; approximately 40 hours per week.
Responsibilities
- Write synopses about German, Polish and Dutch movies and TV shows in English.
- Create multiple synopses weekly, from reality TV to high‑budget drama series and rom‑coms.
- Work closely with a Writing Strategist to align copy with briefs and market needs.
- Apply editorial principles to craft accurate, inclusive and creative synopses that resonate with diverse audiences.
Requirements
- Full native proficiency in English.
- Full native proficiency in Dutch, Polish or German.
- Excellent writing and editing skills.
- Desirable additional proficiency in other European languages.
- Experience writing synopses for streamers and broadcasters.
- Experience editing articles, blog posts, reviews, or feature stories about film and TV.
- Mastery of AP style and attention to detail.
- Strong research skills for quick synthesis of information.
- Self‑less approach to contributing to a world‑class editorial team.
