Salary/Pay Rate: £179 daily PAYE
Hours: Full-time; 40-hour week

Job Description:
Our client is looking for a Photo Editor to join their International Editorial Design team.Work is typically done by small teams under tight deadlines, so strong communication skills are required, as is coolness under pressure, resourcefulness, ingenuity in solving problems, dependability, attention to detail and the ability to learn and cope with rapid change. You need to be adaptable, fast learner to master use of a variety of new tools and possess knowledge of photography production workflows, budgeting, fee and rights negotiation.
The ideal candidate should have deep photo research background and an affinity for visual story telling to join our creative team and support editorial photography. An encyclopaedic knowledge of all types of photography including celebrity portraiture, conceptual, fine art, historical/archival, still life and fashion. Naturally curious, keen ability to develop cultural and commercial narratives with impactful photography and resourcefulness; you go above and beyond to find the right image. When it comes to licensing, you’re masterful at price negotiations, contract execution, retouching supervision and taking your research across the finish line every time.
Key Responsibilities
• Research, curation and licensing of visual assets for imagery requests across client's platforms, and across both EMEA and APAC.
• Ability to proactively identify and solve for potential challenges in the creative and production processes. Ability to effectively manage expectations, when necessary.
• Handle seasonal budgets and fee negotiations with external agencies and artists.
• Outstanding in tracking as well as archival of assets, budgets, licenses and fee negotiations with external agencies and artists.
• Ability to proactively identify and solve for potential challenges in the creative and production processes.
• Play an active role in contributing to the team’s collaborators pool by identifying photo houses, photographers and image sources to partner with for specific projects.
• Briefing, art directing retouching to ensure that retouched assets are done to high standards.
Key Qualifications
• A deep understanding, experience and passion for visual storytelling
• Up-to-date on visual trends
• 5+ years relevant photo editing, multimedia production experience or art directing in a creatively driven environment including advertising, publishing, magazines, entertainment studios, or creative agencies that serve those industries
• Broad knowledge of photographers across many genres including portraiture, sports, documentary, conceptual, fine art and more
• Familiarity with all forms/types of sources for existing photography including boutique syndication agencies, wires, stock houses, galleries and estates
• Knowledge of image rights, likeness restrictions, contract negotiation and legal clearance processes for licensed content
• Clear and concise communicator
• Thorough, detailed, responsible and highly organised
• Proficient jn Numbers, Excel, Keynote, Photoshop and Creative Cloud
• Highly collaborative, great to work with on a team, and instinctively understand the value of building great relationships
Additional Requirements
• Portfolio required
• Bachelor's degree in Photography, Web, Graphic, Information or Communication Design preferred
• Expert Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
• Proficiency in additional languages would be helpful
