We are seeking a talented and passionate VFX Artist to join a dynamic team, where your creativity will directly transform gameplay and user interfaces into unforgettable experiences. This is an incredible opportunity to leave your artistic mark on highly visible projects, collaborating with engineers and designers to push the boundaries of visual storytelling and contribute to the expansion of an innovative team. This is a 7-months, remote contract (must be UK based), offering up to £34 per hour – 40 hrs/week – (PAYE). There is the possibility for extension. This role is open for a limited time. What You'll Do:
- As a VFX Artist, you will be instrumental in making menus and gameplay sections come alive with rich, dynamic visual effects.
- You will collaborate closely with UI designers, engineers, and technical artists to ensure that every visual element enhances the user experience and meets the highest standards of quality and performance.
- Your work will directly impact the immersive quality of our interactive experiences, from conceptualization to final implementation.
- Design, implement, and optimize captivating visual effects for both user interfaces and gameplay.
- Collaborate closely with UI designers, engineers, and technical artists to achieve stunning visual fidelity and seamless integration.
- Develop and refine the technical aspects of VFX, including shaders, tooling, and optimization strategies within the game engine.
- Contribute to the creation of original textures, meshes, sprite sheets, and custom shaders.
- Ensure visual effects are performant and visually striking across various platforms.
Qualifications to Shine:

Must-Have Qualifications:
- Strong professional experience creating real-time visual effects.
- Hands-on experience with the Unity engine.
- Extensive experience creating both UI and gameplay VFX.
- Proven ability to create original textures, meshes, sprite sheets, and shaders.
- Deep understanding of VFX fundamentals, including timing, physics, non-linear motion, and color theory.
- Extensive experience with the Unity toolset, including Animations, Timelines, Particle Systems, and VFX Graph.
- Extensive 3D & 2D asset creation experience.
- Deep knowledge of rendering pipelines.
- Experience with mobile and VR optimizations.
- Strong background in gaming or interactive entertainment.
- Advanced experience with the technical aspects of VFX, including shader development, custom tooling, and advanced optimization techniques.
- A compelling portfolio demonstrating a strong understanding of visual effects principles and execution across diverse platforms (e.g., mobile, VR, console, PC).
