A global entertainment company known for its innovative streaming platform is searching for a talented Synopsis Writer to join its Creative Writing Strategy team. This role offers a unique opportunity to craft compelling summaries for a vast library of movies and TV shows, helping viewers discover their next favourite watch. Your knack for concise, engaging storytelling will play a pivotal role in connecting millions with captivating content.
As a Synopsis Writer, you'll be the voice that guides viewers through a sea of entertainment, crafting compelling summaries that ignite their curiosity. You'll dive into diverse genres, from blockbuster action films to indie gems, ensuring each synopsis captures the essence of the story while resonating with a global audience. Collaborating closely with a team of editors, you'll refine your writing to perfection, ensuring accuracy, inclusivity, and a touch of creative flair. This is a 6 months contract, offering £45-50 per hour (PAYE).
What You'll Do:
- Write engaging synopses for a diverse range of movies and TV shows, primarily from the UK and US, occasionally including European titles.
- Collaborate with assignment editors to ensure alignment with writing briefs and project requirements.
- Maintain editorial principles, crafting accurate, inclusive, and creative synopses that resonate with diverse audiences.
- Conduct research to gather context about titles and synthesize information from various sources.
- Contribute to a collaborative editorial team, embracing feedback and contributing to a positive work environment.
Must-Haves:
- Native-level fluency in English (speaking, reading, and writing).
- Proven experience writing or editing content related to film and television (articles, blog posts, reviews, features, etc.).
- Strong understanding of AP style and meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent research skills and the ability to synthesize information effectively.
- A collaborative spirit and eagerness to receive and provide constructive feedback.
