The Role:
As the Consumer Communications Manager for the UK and Ireland, you will lead consumer-facing campaigns that build awareness and excitement around our platform. You’ll balance strategic, large-scale initiatives with an ongoing drumbeat of creative storytelling to ensure we remain top-of-mind for travelers and media alike.
You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product, and community engagement, to deliver campaigns that resonate with diverse audiences. Your ability to craft creative and culturally relevant stories will play a vital role in enhancing our reputation and driving demand for our platform.
This role is based in London and reports to the Senior Communications Manager, UK & Ireland. This is a 12 months contract, offering £61,250 per annum, pro rata (PAYE).
What You’ll Do:
- Identify and drive proactive press opportunities, including national and global announcements, to support consumer and product goals.
- Develop culturally resonant campaigns that drive demand, incorporating celebrities, influencers, and opinion leaders in the UK and Ireland.
- Handle incoming media inquiries, using data, research, and compelling stories from our community to shape narratives.
- Craft a wide range of written materials, including press releases, blog posts, pitches, Q&As, and messaging guidelines.
- Build and maintain relationships with key journalists, influencers, and partners to amplify our brand.
- Oversee media opportunities with our host and guest community, providing them with tools to share their experiences.
- Collaborate with local, regional, and global teams to ensure alignment on strategic communications initiatives.
- Manage PR agencies, ensuring seamless campaign execution, reporting, and localization of global press materials.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience: Communications, PR, or a related field, with a proven track record in consumer campaigns. Experience in lifestyle, tech, internet, or travel sectors is a plus.
- Media Savvy: Strong understanding of the UK media landscape with established relationships across key outlets.
- Creative Vision: A passion for pop culture and storytelling, with the ability to craft ideas that capture editorial media attention and drive social engagement.
- Project Management: Expertise in managing complex campaigns, including events, influencer partnerships, and data-driven storytelling initiatives.
- Collaboration: Skilled at working cross-functionally and managing external PR agencies to deliver impactful results.
- Adaptability: Thrives in fast-paced environments and is comfortable navigating change.
- Communication: Exceptional writing and interpersonal skills, with confidence in presenting to senior stakeholders and media contacts.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
