Are you happy, motivated and productive working at home? Do you enjoy working with customers, building relationships, and working on larger projects? Do you want a role where you can have a massive impact on the business? Is life working for an SME for you? Do you like getting involved in everything?

At Oddy Hydraulics, we are looking for what we call a Hydraulics Projects Design Engineer. Essentially, we are looking for someone who works with potential customers to show what the proposed project will look like. You will be able to create hydraulic schematics, interpret the customer needs, and develop the solution – understanding the needs of both engineers and purchasing teams is critical.

You have the freedom to use the suppliers you need; our ethos at Oddy is to get it right and get it done. You will work closely with everyone in the business, the sales team in particular. This isn’t a sales job; you’re not out on the road knocking on doors – but we do expect you to be able to spot an opportunity and take a commercial view on everything.

These projects can take time to come to fruition, so you need to be patient and think long-term. We will pay you an attractive salary, and we will provide you with a car allowance. You are also eligible for a profit share bonus. This is not a commission-based role; we want good quality, long-term business.

We are looking for someone within an hour or so from our office in Leeds (LS12). You will be home-based, but we would like to come to the office on a Monday. It isn’t a deal breaker, but it is when most of the team are here!

If you are interested, but do not have a CV at the moment, don’t worry – either send what you have or just get in touch another way. We also understand that your application may be sensitive. If you need a confidential discussion first, please contact our recruitment partner – Simon Haworth at Aqueduct Recruitment.
