Manager – Marketing & Communications
We are currently looking for a Marketing and Communications Manager who will work closely with the sales personnel on the medical and retail product lines, as well as external agencies.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the CMO, your work will include, but not be limited to the following:
- Develop, edit, proofread content for internal and external communications materials
- Coordinate corporate communications activities
- Support senior management team with communications strategy and counsel
- Assist internal teams with content creation (eg. sales brochures or patient communications)
- Support the creation and maintenance of communications materials to support our mission, vision and values
- Prepare and maintain strategic communications plans (eg. corporate, internal, crisis)
- Maintain ongoing knowledge of the cannabis industry relating to regulations, policies, trends, issues, etc. that are relevant to Aqualitas’ interests
- Ensure marketing and promotional materials are compliant with the Cannabis Act and Regulations
- Ensure public-facing materials align with our brand, vision, and values
- Social Media
- Establish presence across main social media platforms for Aqualitas– Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn
- Develop and maintain social media content
- Interact with social media followers (public facing comments and questions and direct messages)
- Liaise with external agencies with social media support
- Media Relations
- Manage media requests
- Prepare Aqualitas personnel for media appearances
- Prepare and distribute media releases; pitch media
- Media monitoring
- Manage corporate speaking requests and prepare speaker materials as required
- Working with graphic designers, prepare corporate materials such as media and investor kits, brochures, banners, videos, etc.
- Maintain websites, particularly content associated with online presence
- Monitor and manage Aqualitas general email inquiries
- Plan and direct marketing initiatives; conduct marketing/business development activities including market research, identification and assessment of new opportunities, competitor analysis, business case development, proposal preparation and management
- Maintain brand data
- Develop custom brand management plans for each product
- Assist to design in-store marketing information or displays
- Maintain contact with vendors and distributors to get critical input on how product design and implementation can be improved
- Work closely with advertising agencies to manage brand campaigns
- Adhere to all Policies, Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, Good Production Practices (GPP) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Qualifications and Educational Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent experience) in Marketing, Communications or related field
- 5+ years’ progressive experience in marketing and communications
- Experience in lifecycle marketing, e-commerce experience and website design, and analytical background including Google Analytics and Hubspot
- Intermediate skills in art direction and/or layout and design software
- Exceptional verbal and report presentation abilities
- Extensive experience in packaging design, retail display creation and strategic advertising plans
Skills Requirements
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative, team-oriented environment
- Knowledge of the Cannabis Industry and regulatory frameworks is an asset
- Highly organized, detail-oriented and able to manage/execute multiple ongoing projects
- Ability to quickly prioritize and react to changing dynamics and communicate priorities to key internal and external stakeholders
- Exceptional ability to work with the public with confidence and enthusiasm
- Ability to act independently and as a team member
- Attention to detail and accuracy including thorough documentation abilities
- Adaptability and flexibility
- Ability to prioritize activities and adjust priorities on short notice

Location
Hybrid; Occasional travel to Brooklyn, Queens County, NS area.
Compensation
To be determined based on skills and experience.
Status and Hours
Permanent, 40hrs per week.
