We currently have a fantastic opportunity available for a Work Planning Technician to join our team based in Exeter. You join us on a full‑time, permanent basis, and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £25,274 per annum + excellent benefits and rewards.
About the role
As a Work Planning Technician, you will be responsible for delivering effective work planning, scheduling, and contract management. This includes planning and scheduling work for the Meter Reading and Meter Maintenance Field Teams, as well as supporting non‑household meter reading contracts. A key part of this role is contributing to a multi‑skilled, proactive, and flexible approach within the Work Planning Team. You will also be responsible for maintaining field‑based performance metrics and supporting end‑to‑end customer service, ensuring high‑quality customer care in line with business priorities.
What you’ll be doing
- Effective use of read scheduling systems to optimize productivity in the Meter Reading Teams by identifying and issuing work based on centrally available information.
- Use of Excel to run reports for Company performance management, board report and interdepartmental data, ensuring outputs are supplied to the optimum quality and timescale, requiring attention to detail.
- Admin support of the contractual measures and business systems to ensure productivity within the meter reading teams.
- Liaise with partners, stakeholders and other business areas to resolve queries and respond within agreed timescales to complement resolution.
- Support all Metering Field Teams in delivering high levels of customer and technical service to meet business objectives and drive continued improvement.
- Work to proactively reduce and prevent Long Unread Meters while contributing to the success of the meter upgrade program.
- Be responsible for identifying and mitigating areas of risk to performance through continuous management of daily risks and liaison with team managers to allocate resources accordingly across depot areas.
- Report update asset data to ensure accuracy of business wide system portals.
