Salary: £55,000 - £60,000 DOE + Uncapped Bonus + Company Car + Benefits

Are you a driven sales professional with experience in engineering, industrial services, water, pumps, or related sectors? Our client is seeking an ambitious External Sales Engineer to drive business growth across Scotland, developing both existing customer relationships and new business opportunities.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established engineering and industrial services business with a strong reputation in the market and a diverse portfolio of products and services.

The Role:

Covering Scotland, you will be responsible for developing and growing business within Scottish Water, primarily through an established M&E Consumables Framework, while also identifying opportunities across a broad range of industrial customers. The successful candidate can be based anywhere in Scotland, although candidates located in the North of Scotland will be at an advantage. Regular visits to the company's offices in Aberdeen and Kinross will be required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and grow sales revenue across Scottish Water and other industrial accounts.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders.
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities across multiple sectors.
  • Promote the company's full range of products and engineering services.
  • Prepare and deliver technical and commercial proposals.
  • Work closely with internal engineering and operational teams to ensure excellent customer service.
  • Maintain an active pipeline of opportunities and deliver against sales targets.

Products & Services:

The role will involve selling a broad range of products and services, including:

  • Borehole Drilling (Water & Geothermal)
  • Domestic & Industrial Water Treatment Solutions
  • Pumps, Valves, Fittings and Drainage Equipment
  • Engineering Services including Repair and Overhaul of Rotating Equipment

The Candidate:

We are interested in speaking with candidates who possess a strong sales background within engineering, industrial, utilities, water, pumps, mechanical, electrical, or related sectors.

You will ideally have:

  • Proven experience in a field-based sales or business development role.
  • Strong relationship-building and account management skills.
  • A technical aptitude and ability to understand engineering products and services.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • A proactive and self-motivated approach to business development.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Previous experience within the water industry would be advantageous, however candidates from other technical or industrial sectors will also be considered. Attitude, drive, and the ability to develop customer relationships are considered just as important as sector-specific experience.

Package

  • £55,000 - £60,000 basic salary (DOE)
