The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Manager to join a growing technical services team delivering commercial water infrastructure and remedial projects across the UK.

This role will suit someone with experience in water, utilities, plumbing or civil engineering environments who enjoys managing projects, coordinating field teams and working with subcontractors to deliver safe, efficient and high-quality outcomes.

The position offers excellent autonomy, flexibility and support, with the opportunity to take ownership of projects from initial quotation through to completion.

The Role

You will be responsible for managing a range of commercial water-related projects, including plumbing remedials, leakage repairs, AMR/sub-meter installations, water efficiency works and associated civil engineering activities.

Working closely with internal teams, customers and specialist contractors, you will ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget while maintaining strong communication throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage projects from quotation through to completion.
  • Coordinate internal leakage technicians, plumbers and field-based resources.
  • Manage specialist subcontractors delivering leak repairs, civils works and remedial projects.
  • Review repair audits and support technical solutions.
  • Obtain and assess subcontractor quotations.
  • Monitor project costs, timelines, quality and delivery standards.
  • Liaise with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Review RAMS and ensure compliance with safe working practices.
  • Support compliance with CDM regulations, health & safety legislation and company procedures.
  • Assist with operational planning, scheduling and resource management.

Types of Projects

  • Underground leak repairs
  • Commercial plumbing remedials
  • AMR and sub-meter installations
  • Water efficiency projects
  • New water supply installations
  • Drainage amendments
  • Pump systems
  • Associated civil engineering works

What We Are Looking For

Essential

  • Project management experience within water, utilities, plumbing, construction or civil engineering environments.
  • Experience managing contractors and field-based teams.
  • Knowledge of commercial plumbing systems and/or water networks.
  • Experience managing projects, budgets, quotations and delivery programmes.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.

Desirable

  • Experience within the water industry.
  • Knowledge of water regulations and private water supply infrastructure.
  • Understanding of CDM regulations.
  • Experience reviewing RAMS.
  • SSSTS, SMSTS or other relevant Health & Safety qualifications.
  • Experience within leakage, metering or water efficiency projects.

About You

You will be a proactive and organised Project Manager who enjoys taking ownership and delivering practical solutions. You will be comfortable working with engineers, subcontractors, customers and internal teams, with the confidence to manage projects independently while being part of a supportive wider team.

This role would suit someone looking for a position with variety, responsibility and autonomy rather than a high-pressure, heavily sales-driven environment.
