Are you a skilled engineer looking for a unique opportunity to contribute to Scotland\’s heritage? Aqua-Tech are working with a business that manages and maintains Scotland\’s canal network, who are looking for a Marine Engineer Your responsibilities will include: * Diagnosing and fixing issues: You\’ll be the go-to person for resolving problems with diesel engines, electrical systems (12V & 240V), and plumbing on our holiday boats. * Maintaining the fleet: You\’ll help maintain high standards for boat maintenance, inspections, and handover procedures. * Supporting the team: You\’ll support the ops manager and motivating our Bankside Operations Staff. This includes leading toolbox talks and ensuring good communication. * Being on call: You\’ll need to be available for \”call outs\” to attend to breakdowns on the hire fleet. * Winter works: You\’ll assist with the winter maintenance program and boat safety inspections for the fleet. * Ensuring safety: You\’ll lead by example, promoting health and safety for everyone. What We\’re Looking For: We\’re seeking a qualified engineer or technician with a HNC/HND/City & Guilds (or equivalent) in Mechanical, Electrical, or Marine Engineering. You\’ll also need: * A full UK driving licence. * Strong diesel engine knowledge and the ability to diagnose and repair faults independently. * Experience with 12-volt and 240-volt electrical systems. * The ability to follow procedures and maintain systems. It\’s a bonus if you have: * Plumbing knowledge and fault-finding skills. * Experience with hydraulic systems. * Knowledge of steering and propulsion systems
