A leading UK water provider is seeking a Water Demand Strategy Manager to lead demand forecasting, efficiency programmes and regulatory reporting aligned with Water Resource Management Plans. For the right person, the location can be flexible with occasional travel to office locations in Cambridge and South Staffordshire. This is a strategic role responsible for delivering a five-year demand reduction strategy aligned with Water Resource Management Plans, helping ensure sustainable water use while meeting regulatory targets. You will act as the organisation’s subject matter expert for water efficiency, working closely with internal teams and external partners including retailers, consultants and regulators.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver the organisation’s water demand reduction strategy through to 2030
- Forecast water demand and support long-term resource planning
- Monitor and report programme performance and benefits to regulators including Ofwat and the Environment Agency
- Work collaboratively with metering and leakage teams to maximise the impact of universal metering programmes
- Identify industry best practice, innovation and partnership opportunities
- Build strong relationships with non-household retailers and key stakeholders
- Manage consultants, suppliers and delivery partners where required
- Represent the organisation at relevant industry forums and working groups
Requirements:
- Around 5+ years’ experience in a relevant role such as water efficiency, demand management or water resources
- Experience delivering projects or programmes from development through to delivery
- Strong project management and budget management capability
- Understanding of Water Resource Management Plans and water industry regulatory commitments
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Ability to manage priorities independently and drive initiatives forward
- Full UK driving licence due to occasional travel
