This role will be key in assisting the purchasing manager in overseeing the planning activities within the department whilst driving operational efficiencies to embed a process driven culture. The Demand Planner will be required to oversee the MRP tools within the ERP to optimise stock availability along with producing forecasts across sales, inventory & operations. The goal of this pivotal role is to imbed a robust demand planning and factory planning motion giving critical inventory, capacity and production planning insights into the business helping us to maintain our growth and operational efficiency.

What this role involves:

  • Demand Planning and Execution
    • Manage demand planning tool to support the optimization of stock availability, reduction of E&O and improving inventory turns.
    • Determine and establish optimal inventory levels based on forecast, demand variation and lead times (ABC-XYZ approach).
    • Work with the Purchasing Manager and relevant teams within Aqua Cure to develop effective sales inputs into the SIOP process and collating the data, work with the supply chain and procurement in holding and reporting to the exec SIOP team.
    • Support the material flows throughout product / BOM changes, obsolescence, and the introduction of new suppliers and / or materials due to new product development.
    • Work with the Buyer to maintain material master system planning parameters (MOQ, lead time, safety stocks, price, product families, etc.).
  • Production / Warehouse planning
    • Produce weekly, monthly and annual production plans which adhere to our expected inventory holdings and adjusting them when needed.
    • Manage BOM requirements and work with the Buyer to raise requisitions into orders to ensure that the daily production plan maximizes factory output in line with the required finished goods inventory levels.
    • Reviewing operational capacity vs demand, liaising with the production supervisor to ensure sufficient manufacturing capacity is scheduled for the future.
    • Ensure purchase orders are raised and work with the Buyer to ensure that raw material levels are maintained to the required level to maintain production outputs.
    • Retain current with closing pipelines, accessing daily outputs against target.
    • Predict the flow of capacity against this while assuring inventory and warehouse capacity is measured through levels and QTY management.
    • Assure cycle counts are performed by planning and researching flows of sales v inventory utilising SIOP team in decision making.
    • Assure readiness of goods in by tracking deliveries, adherence to 5s, assuring the standard warehouse management process flow is adhered to.
    • Assuring stock management, locations, labelling and data flows are followed in and out of the warehouse function.
  • KPI Suite Development
    • Assist the Purchasing Manager in providing critical business insights and developing supply chain KPI’s key areas to include: Finished goods availability, raw materials availability, inventory values (including E&O), inventory turns, OTIF, etc.

Requirements

  • Experience working within a Demand Planning role, in a supply chain environment.
  • Experience of planning an extensive set of SKUs (5000) of both production component and sales stock.
  • Extensive experience with MRP and ERP systems.
  • Ability to understand forecasts, demand and variation.
  • Organisation and planning.
  • Analytical and data driven.
  • Advanced Excel capability; lookups, powerpivot tables with the ability to take raw data from ERP data cubes and turning it into insightful Excel based reports to assist management decisions.
  • Innovative mind set.
  • Strong IT and literacy skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Exceptional time management.
  • Ability to work independently and use their own initiative.
  • Be flexible.
  • Experience of managing imported stock from Asia would be advantageous.
