As a Senior Project Manager, you will oversee and drive the successful delivery of high-profile, complex programmes, ensuring strategic alignment, resource optimisation, and stakeholder satisfaction. This role is integral to the organisation, requiring dynamic leadership and a commitment to fostering innovation, sustainability, and operational excellence.
You will manage project delivery teams, ensuring the successful execution of projects within the programme and alignment with organisational objectives.
Key Responsibilities;
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of strategic programmes, ensuring objectives are met within scope, budget, and timelines.
- Define and manage programme governance structures, ensuring transparency, accountability, and effective risk management.
- Align programmes with organisational goals and client requirements, providing strategic oversight to project teams.
Team Management & Development
- Directly manage project delivery team members and oversee multidisciplinary teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Mentor and develop project leaders, ensuring professional growth and the adoption of best practices.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as the primary point of contact for key clients and stakeholders, ensuring alignment and proactive communication across all programme stages.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, promoting trust and long-term partnership opportunities.
- Oversee programme budgets and financial performance, ensuring profitability and adherence to financial plans.
- Manage contracts and commercial agreements, collaborating with legal and finance teams to mitigate risks and ensure compliance.
- Actively source work for self, team, service division and Aqua.
- Strategically allocate resources across projects, ensuring optimal utilisation and addressing conflicts or shortages.
- Forecast resource needs and develop strategies to support long-term organisational growth.
Performance Management & Reporting
- Monitor and report on programme performance, delivering data-driven insights to senior leadership and clients.
- Prepare executive-level reports highlighting progress, challenges, and recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Drive process optimisation initiatives to enhance efficiency and delivery excellence.
- Champion the adoption of innovative tools, technologies, and methodologies to improve programme outcomes.
Sustainability & Strategic Alignment
- Embed sustainability principles across programmes, ensuring alignment with organisational environmental and social objectives.
- Support the organisation's digital transformation agenda by integrating data-driven decision-making into programme management.
Skills & Qualifications;
- Proven experience in leading large, complex programmes across multiple sectors.
- Strong leadership capabilities with a strategic mindset and exceptional communication skills.
- Expertise in stakeholder management, risk mitigation, and financial governance.
- Proficiency in project and programme management tools, including Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and advanced digital platforms.
- NEC3/4 accreditation or similar certification.
- Experience in the water, utilities, or infrastructure sectors.
- Advanced knowledge of project dashboards and data visualisation tools.
