We are seeking a dedicated professional to provide targeted, inclusive support to students with learning difficulties and special educational needs across our international school community. Support Teachers in this role may be allocated to positions in the Primary or Secondary departments as needed by the school, ensuring flexible deployment to best meet student requirements while aligning with our IBPYP framework, British-influenced curriculum (Cambridge IGCSE & A-Levels) and holistic approach to education.

Main Purpose of the Role

To support teachers and students by identifying, assessing, and providing individualized interventions for learners with special educational needs and learning difficulties. Promote inclusive education, remove barriers to learning, and empower students to achieve their full potential in a nurturing, international school environment.

  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, Heads of Schools, Head of Learning Support Department, and the SEN team to identify students requiring additional support through observations, assessments, and data analysis.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) or support plans tailored to students' specific needs (e.g., learning disabilities, ADHD, dyslexia, autism spectrum, giftedness, or other SEN profiles).
  • Provide targeted one-to-one, small-group, or in-class support (push-in/pull-out) to help students access the curriculum, build skills, and make progress.
  • Use differentiated teaching strategies, multisensory approaches, assistive technology, and evidence-based interventions to address diverse learning profiles.
  • Monitor student progress, maintain detailed records, and contribute to review meetings with parents, teachers, and external specialists.
  • Advise and train mainstream teachers on inclusive practices, accommodations, modifications, and strategies to support SEN students in their classrooms.
  • Liaise professionally with parents, community members, external agencies, and company representatives (e.g., specialists, therapists) to coordinate support.
  • Interact daily with internal stakeholders: Principal, office staff, support staff, teachers, and students.
  • Promote a positive, inclusive school culture that values diversity and celebrates every student's strengths.
  • Participate in evolving responsibilities in consultation with the Principal and/or Head of School, including contributing to policy development, staff training, and school-wide inclusion initiatives.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Special Education Needs or a related field.
