As part of our Web Operations Team within the Marketing & Brand department, you\’ll take a lead role in delivering our web product roadmap – ensuring technical improvements are aligned to customer needs, operational priorities, and our wider strategy.
You\’ll coordinate internal teams and third-party developers, helping to ensure our website continues to support teachers and students – particularly during the high-stakes summer exam series – with stability, clarity, and reliability.
This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role, perfect for someone who can bring people together, solve problems in complex environments, and keep digital projects moving at pace.
What will I be doing?
- Leading digital delivery – You\’ll drive delivery of the web roadmap, managing the full lifecycle from discovery and planning through to testing, implementation, and release.
- Working across teams – Collaborate closely with Product Managers, analysts, developers, and external partners to deliver high-quality web products and services.
- Supporting third-party delivery – Work alongside our outsourced development agency to ensure timely, high-quality releases that meet expectations and remain on budget.
- Championing continuous improvement – Use agile and lean principles to continually improve our processes, systems, and team ways of working – always aiming to increase delivery speed and product quality.
- Embedding customer-first thinking – Ensure developments meet the real needs of teachers, students and schools, and support our commitment to a seamless customer experience.
- Governance & reporting – Provide regular updates on progress, budgets and risks to senior stakeholders, including the Director of Marketing & Brand.
- Playing a key role in exam delivery – During exam periods, offer practical leadership and issue resolution support to ensure web systems remain stable and effective.
What will I need to succeed?
You\’ll bring a balance of technical delivery expertise, stakeholder confidence, and a genuine drive to improve customer-facing experiences in an education context.
- Experienced in agile web delivery – You\’ve led technical projects within agile, lean, or scaled agile environments, with an eye on value, outcomes, and stakeholder needs.
- Technically confident – You have a solid understanding of digital platforms and software development processes, enabling you to assess, guide and challenge technical decisions.
- Collaborative and calm under pressure – You bring clarity to ambiguity, structure to complexity, and confidence to senior stakeholders – even in time-sensitive or high-risk situations.
- Outcome-focused – You focus on delivering real value for customers and the organisation, balancing commercial, operational and technical needs in your decision-making.
- Committed to improvement – You constantly look for ways to enhance processes, coach others, and bring out the best in cross-functional teams.
- Digitally fluent – You\’re comfortable working with data, managing risks, and aligning digital delivery to business goals.
- A natural facilitator – Whether in workshops, retrospectives or stakeholder meetings, you help others work well together and stay focused on the goal.
