The Role

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate General Practitioners (GPs) to join our growing practice at 54 Hagley Road, Birmingham.

This role provides an opportunity to deliver high-quality primary care to a diverse range of patients within a private healthcare setting.

The successful candidate will provide safe, effective and patient-centred consultations while contributing to the continued development of our clinical services.

We are looking to appoint at least two GPs and welcome applications from experienced GPs who are committed to delivering excellent standards of patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct high-quality patient consultations, including face-to-face and telephone consultations.
  • Assess, diagnose and manage a broad range of acute and chronic medical conditions.
  • Prescribe medication safely and appropriately in accordance with relevant clinical guidance.
  • Provide patients with appropriate health education, advice and preventative healthcare.
  • Manage and review patients with long-term and chronic conditions.
  • Recognise and appropriately manage urgent and complex presentations, including appropriate referral where required.
  • Maintain accurate, comprehensive and up-to-date patient records.
  • Adhere to relevant UK clinical guidelines, professional standards and evidence-based practice.
  • Maintain high standards of clinical governance, patient safety and confidentiality.
  • Participate in clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of practice policies and clinical procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and other healthcare professionals as part of a multidisciplinary approach to patient care.
  • Support the training, mentoring and development of other healthcare professionals where appropriate.
  • Comply with safeguarding requirements and relevant legal, regulatory and ethical frameworks.
  • Contribute positively to the ongoing development of APX GP's clinical services.

Candidates should possess

  • A full medical qualification, such as MBBS or equivalent.
  • Current GMC registration with a licence to practise.
  • Inclusion on the UK GP Register.
  • Appropriate experience working as a GP in a primary care setting.
  • Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic and decision-making skills.
  • Experience managing a broad range of acute and chronic conditions.
  • Sound prescribing knowledge and a commitment to safe prescribing practices.
  • Knowledge of relevant UK clinical guidelines and evidence-based practice.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with patients from diverse backgrounds.
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, including the ability to prioritise workload effectively.
  • A commitment to accurate clinical documentation and record keeping.
  • Commitment to continuing professional development, clinical audit and quality improvement.
  • Understanding of safeguarding principles, patient confidentiality and relevant legal and ethical requirements within UK healthcare.
  • Flexibility to work agreed part-time hours on-site at 54 Hagley Road, Birmingham and adapt to the changing needs of the practice.
