Overall Purpose of the Role: We are looking for an enthusiastic and technically capable IT Support Assistant to provide day-to-day technical support, assist with the smooth running of IT operations, and contribute to the ongoing development of our internal systems. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with foundational IT knowledge who is eager to grow and take on a wide variety of responsibilities across hardware, software, user support, and systems administration.

What you will be doing:

  • Provide responsive support for hardware, software and issues across desktops, laptops and mobile devices.
  • Liaise with third-party IT providers to resolve issues and manage scheduled maintenance.
  • Manage mobile devices via MDM tools and maintain accurate asset records.
  • Support onboarding/offboarding processes with secure device handovers.
  • Develop a strong understanding of the in-house job management system to support users, deliver training, and testing new updates or features.
  • Manage user accounts and access rights; act as a key contact for site-based teams using the Android app.
  • Deliver IT training and maintain user guides and documentation.
  • Update and maintain the company’s WordPress website to ensure it remains secure, functional and aligned with business requirements.
  • Support GDPR compliance and ensure best practices are followed in user access, data handling, and system security.
  • Maintain or work towards relevant cybersecurity accreditations (e.g., IAMSE certification).
  • Identify root causes of recurring issues and recommend improvements.
  • Assist with IT projects to enhance system performance.
  • Ensure adherence to IT policies and procedures; handle other tasks as assigned by management.

  • Experience in an IT support or junior IT role.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Good working knowledge of Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365.
  • Experience supporting mobile devices and using MDM platforms.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to engage professionally with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proactive, organised, and able to prioritise workload independently.
  • Strong attention to detail and methodical in approach.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in the multi-utilities or construction-related industries.
  • Familiarity with SQL databases and data-driven systems.
