About Aptura

Aptura sits where institutional finance meets frontier AI. Our founding team brings deep capital markets and private capital experience from Lazard and Partners Group, combined with applied AI research. From offices in London and San Francisco, we collaborate with leading foundational AI labs to advance how models reason in high-stakes financial contexts. We're building the team that makes it happen.

The Opportunity

This residency is for investment banking professionals in the UK who want to be on the inside of how AI is reshaping finance, rather than reading about it. You'll work alongside ex-bulge-bracket and elite-boutique professionals on the same problem sets that frontier AI labs are actively working on, applied to corporate finance.

What We're Looking For

  • 3–4+ years of IB or Corporate Finance experience at a top international bank (bulge bracket, elite boutique, or top-tier global advisory).
  • Strong financial modelling and valuation skills in Excel.
  • Thorough understanding of financial statements, valuation, and financial modelling.
  • Skilled at extracting and interpreting data from filings, earnings materials, and investor presentations.
  • High attention to detail, with excellent summarisation and written communication skills.
  • Able to produce structured analytical outputs with clear explanations of methodology.

Project Info

  • Design and build financial analysis scenarios tailored to your area of expertise.
  • Create annotated financial models that demonstrate analytical logic.
  • Structure data extraction and analysis tasks from public company materials.
  • Evaluate AI-generated outputs for accuracy and professional quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and review challenging finance scenarios and prompts to advance AI reasoning.
  • Build, adapt, and annotate financial models to highlight key logic and decision-making.
  • Review and validate assigned tasks with a high level of accuracy.
  • Maintain well-organised documentation and uphold internal standards.

What's In It For You

  • Contribute to the direction of AI in finance.
  • Gain firsthand exposure to how AI models are trained and developed.
  • Build specialised expertise at the intersection of finance and AI.
  • Competitive pay.

Residency Structure

  • Commitment: Minimum 30+ hours/week, flexible scheduling.
  • Location: Fully remote and asynchronous.
  • Compensation: Competitive hourly rate, commensurate with experience.
  • Start date: Immediate / Rolling.
  • Referral bonus: for any successful referral hired into this role.
