Our small maintenance team are responsible for maintaining the grounds, buildings and facilities at Another Place, The Lake as part of your 40 hours contract.

Your prime function will be to provide maintenance cover for Another Place, The Lake. You will help maintain the hotel and its grounds, and look after machinery and other practical matters.

As our Maintenance Assistant you'll:

  • Work alongside the team and assist with the pool plant room requirements.
  • Assist with general repairs.
  • Assist with preventative, planned and reactive maintenance.
  • Assist with the room set‑ups for events.
  • Assist with carpentry, painting and decorating and plumbing tasks.
  • Assist with occasional sustainability projects.
  • Be part of the team that provides 7‑day per week maintenance support to the business.
  • Drive a company vehicle as part of team bus service.
  • Be welcoming to guests and colleagues alike.
  • Ensure that the standards of the department are carried out daily.
  • Ensure that any requests in the maintenance log are completed in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that all the correct supplies are in the correct area and are stocked up, for example light bulbs and emergency tool kit.
  • Carry out any other reasonable requests.
  • Follow health and safety requirements at all times.
  • Use the correct PPE provided when carrying out tasks.
  • Report any health and safety issues to our Facilities Manager.

Job skills and requirements:

  • Experienced in a similar industry, preferably hospitality.
  • Aware of current health and safety legislation.
  • Diagnosing and repairing day‑to‑day mechanical/practical problems and making any necessary repairs.
  • Reliable in following instructions and willing to take initiative when needed.
  • Demonstrating excellent skills in maintenance such as re‑decoration, electrics, basic plumbing and tiling.
  • Computer literate.
  • Exhibiting strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Equipped with a full, clean driving licence.
