Aptitude Support Ltd. is a provider of high-quality medical appraisal services. We are seeking experienced, motivated, and dedicated GMC-registered medical practitioners to join our growing team of independent appraisers.

Who We Are Looking For

  • GMC Registration: Must hold a current, full, and unrestricted licence to practice with the General Medical Council (GMC).
  • Appraisal Experience: Proven experience as a trained medical appraiser within a UK healthcare setting (NHS or independent sector).
  • Training Compliance: Evidence of completion of an approved Appraiser Training course, ideally compliant with the requirements of NHS England/Scotland/Wales/Northern Ireland.
  • Commitment to Quality: A deep understanding of the Good Medical Practice framework and revalidation requirements.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication, coaching, and analytical skills to facilitate supportive and constructive appraisal discussions.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Preparation: Reviewing the doctor’s appraisal portfolio and supporting information (e.g., job plan, quality improvement activities, feedback) in advance.
  • Conducting Appraisals: Facilitating confidential, high-quality, and reflective appraisal meetings (typically remotely via secure video conferencing).
  • Documentation: Completing the appraisal documentation accurately and promptly on our secure platform, confirming that the doctor is meeting the requirements for revalidation.
  • Upholding Standards: Ensuring all appraisals comply with current GMC guidance and our internal quality standards.
