As a Project Manager, you will be a member of the Professional Services Team. This role works regionally but you will be expected to collaborate globally across the company with a variety of teams both within Professional Services and across other teams such as Product, GTM and Commercial. You will be an ambassador of the company with a solid understanding, by using examples, of the markets and clients the company serves and the finance processes and value in the data that the products and solutions we offer are supporting.

Responsibilities

  • You will be considered a leading figure in your domain and provide steering and support to numerous client facing projects.
  • You will be expected to fully understand and ensure the agreed outcomes of the implementation are delivered and will be ultimately accountable for the success of the overall project delivery, including, but not limited to, commercial success, robustness of the solution, client satisfaction, a stable and fulfilled implementation team.
  • You will be responsible for performing a project management role within client delivery programs delivery Aptitude Software (’Aptitude’) products and services, while supporting the Regional Professional Services Director with respect to portfolio delivery management and strategic initiatives.
  • The role requires confidence and leadership which enables clients to build trust in our delivery. Critical to the success of this will be your proficient client communication and management skills.
  • You are expected to drive and inspire others around you.
  • As part of the overall role there will be an expectation that you manage risk and think commercially as part of your decision-making process.
  • To ensure successful project delivery you must confirm that an achievable Delivery Plan is in place at the outset and it is managed and tracked throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Your Delivery Plan must be cognisant of all external dependencies that impact successful delivery.
  • The role will involve managing and advising others of the combined implementation team, i.e. other Aptitude employees, partner staff and client staff.
  • The responsibility of the full project life cycle will include handover to the client and internal support services.
  • This will include ensuring your team understand and follow best practice to ensure that the quality of our delivery is fit for purpose, always striving towards a model of repeatability.
  • You will ensure your team manage and track how the client requirements relate to Aptitude product(s) capabilities, which will require a two-way dialogue with product teams.
  • As well as ensuring your team are actively engaging with other project teams to share knowledge, best practice, client experiences, lessons learnt and re-usable delivery artefacts.
  • It is a given that the Project Manager will proactively keep up-to-date with relevant knowledge and skills and that they will be aligned to the evolving company culture, contributing towards internal communications and sharing stories to the wider Aptitude community where appropriate.
  • The role will usually be performed remotely (excluding the 2 days per week at the office), some visits may be required to client premises during an engagement, which may be travel in-country and/or overseas.

Where you’ll be

  • This role is based from our London office, we support hybrid working.
  • This role also involves ad-hoc travel in-country and/or overseas.
  • To us at Aptitude, hybrid working means that our employees come together for 2-days per week at their local office.
  • We ask employees to come into the office every Wednesday and give you the flexibility to choose your other day.

Qualifications

  • Significant experience in project management delivering software implementations (ideally 3-5 years minimum).
  • Proven track record of managing and delivering multiple complex projects.
  • Project management professional qualification essential – for example, APM Accredited, PRINCE2, PMP.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and plan all aspects of delivery including budget, quality, risk (commercial & delivery), client satisfaction and solution assurance.
  • Demonstrated experience of managing and maintaining related resource planning/forecasting and deliverables.
  • Build collegiate working relationships with a diverse range of contacts both within and outside the company; demonstrated ability to influence and maintain positive relationships with key client stakeholders.
  • Managing and providing guidance to other members of the project team to ensure delivery against plan, and involvement of the right people at the right time.
  • Fosters a continuous learning approach supporting the development of self and others; with the ability to drive and own the implementation of best practice project processes (including agile where appropriate), delivery standards and commercial engagement terms.
  • Detailed understanding of agile, waterfall, and hybrid methodologies.
  • Escalation management of project out of line situations including stakeholder communication and management.
  • Ability to establish and maintain a “trusted advisor” relationship with the client and partner stakeholders.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, C level, finance, IT and project.
  • Risk and issue management assistance for delivery teams as a point of escalation.
  • Show persistence and resourcefulness in the face of challenges.
