Job requirements

As Aptia continues to grow, we’re looking for an experienced Client Director or Senior Client Director to join our UK Pensions business and play a pivotal role in strengthening some of our most important client relationships. This role will work across both consulting and administrative services. This is a visible role for a commercially minded pensions professional who thrives on building trusted partnerships, driving growth, and delivering exceptional client outcomes. You’ll take ownership of a portfolio of key pension clients, acting as their strategic partner and primary point of contact. Working closely with operational, consulting and leadership teams, you’ll ensure outstanding service delivery while identifying opportunities to expand relationships and create additional value. Success in this role means becoming a trusted adviser to clients and trustees, influencing strategy, resolving complex challenges, and helping clients achieve their long‑term objectives. This is a hybrid role where you can align to any Aptia UK office.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading and developing relationships across a portfolio of pension clients
  • Acting as the senior client contact and trusted adviser for clients and trustees
  • Driving client retention, satisfaction and long‑term partnership growth
  • Identifying and converting opportunities for additional services, projects and revenue growth
  • Leading client review meetings and presenting service performance, insights and improvement plans
  • Partnering with operational teams to ensure service excellence and delivery against SLAs and KPIs
  • Managing escalations and resolving complex client issues effectively
  • Supporting contract renewals, commercial negotiations and tender responses
  • Monitoring portfolio performance, profitability and commercial outcomes
  • Staying ahead of industry developments and regulatory change to provide informed guidance to clients

Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • You’ll bring a strong blend of pensions expertise, commercial awareness and relationship management experience.
  • Significant client relationship or account management experience within pensions – this could be within administration or consulting
  • Strong knowledge of UK pension arrangements, including Defined Benefit (DB) and Defined Contribution (DC) schemes
  • Experience managing complex client portfolios and delivering commercial objectives
  • A track record of identifying and winning additional business opportunities
  • The ability to communicate technical pension matters clearly to a wide range of stakeholders
  • Excellent presentation, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
  • A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement
  • Strong commercial and financial awareness, including experience managing profitability and revenue growth

At Aptia, you’ll be part of a business that’s transforming the pensions industry through innovation, expertise and client focus. You’ll work alongside talented colleagues across the UK and internationally, helping shape solutions that make a real difference to organisations and the people they support. If you’re a relationship‑led pensions professional with the commercial mindset to grow client partnerships and the expertise to deliver trusted advice, we’d love to hear from you.
