Role Overview
A GMP Equalisation Specialist will support the delivery of high‑quality GMPe and GMP rectification projects for pension scheme clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete and review GMP equalisation calculations, including member and scheme‑level results.
- Validate GMPe outputs using Excel models, actuarial systems and first‑principles calculations.
- Prepare client reports, technical documentation and advice.
- Support client managers by responding to technical queries and providing project updates.
- Develop expertise in GMPe calculations and act as a subject‑matter expert for colleagues across actuarial and administration teams.
- Assist with GMP rectification, data projects and other member calculation exercises.
- Review work completed by junior team members and provide coaching, training and feedback.
- Contribute to the improvement of calculation tools, templates and processes to drive efficiency and quality.
- Support project delivery, ensuring work is completed within agreed budgets and timescales.
- Build strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
About You
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Experience of pension calculations, GMP equalisation or actuarial project work.
- Advanced Excel and strong IT skills.
- Ability to communicate complex information clearly in reports, emails and client discussions.
- Organised and able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Committed to delivering a high standard of client service and supporting the development of junior colleagues.
