As part of the continued growth of our UK pensions business, across both administration and consulting services, we are looking for a talented Communications Consultant to help deliver clear, engaging and insightful member communications that build trust, improve understanding, and strengthen client relationships. You will work with our clients, trustees, and internal pension administration and actuarial teams to design and deliver high-quality communication strategies and materials. You will play a key role in shaping how members experience their pension journeys — using both digital and offline channels to engage, inform and empower. This is an exciting opportunity to help embed a newly established, revenue‑generating communications function, working alongside the Communications Lead to influence best practice and drive innovation in pensions communications. This is a hybrid working role and can be aligned to any Aptia office across the UK.
Here’s what you’ll be doing:
- Lead the end‑to‑end delivery of content across digital, print and verbal channels — including newsletters, scheme updates, benefit statements, website copy, explainer guides and transactional notices.
- Act as a communication partner to pensions administration teams and Client Directors, developing tailored materials for specific schemes and member groups.
- Collaborate with Aptia’s brand and internal communications teams to align tone and style while maintaining the independence required for regulated communications.
- Build and maintain a library of templates, standards and best practice guidelines for member‑facing content.
- Work with the digital App team to ensure a cohesive approach to online member experiences and communication flows.
- Support onboarding and change projects, including scheme transitions, GMP rectification, dashboard preparation and regulatory updates.
- Track and analyse communication performance using engagement metrics, analytics and feedback, applying insights to drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure all materials are accessible, inclusive, jargon‑free and compliant with TPR/FCA expectations and relevant regulations.
- Manage relationships with external agencies, printers and content providers where needed.
- Represent Aptia in client meetings and steering groups focused on member communications.
What we’re looking for:
- Previous experience in employee benefits communications, with strong understanding of pensions and member needs.
- Excellent copywriting and editorial expertise — able to simplify complex concepts for different audiences and levels of financial literacy.
- Experience in digital communications, UX content strategy and multi‑channel engagement (web, video, portals, apps, webinars).
- Familiarity with communication compliance requirements in a pensions context.
- Ability to manage multiple clients, projects and external suppliers effectively.
- A commercial mindset and the desire to help grow a new and evolving service offering.
- Strong prioritisation skills and the ability to work at pace in a dynamic environment.
