At Apteriors, we specialise in delivering innovative, BIM-compliant FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment) solutions for government and commercial projects. We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Designer with strong experience in producing manufacturing drawings to join our growing team and help shape inspiring, functional spaces that integrate seamlessly with wider building services. This role can be based out of our London, Leeds or Driffield offices.

The Role

The Technical Designer leads FF&E design delivery across multiple projects or large-scale schemes. The role requires technical authority with a strong background in the manufacturing sector. You will be able to demonstrate coordination capability, problem-solving and confidence in client facing activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with Manufacturing (Studio FFE) to ensure smooth design to production workflows
  • Lead concept development, design reviews and FF&E packages across all RIBA stages. Prepare and approve coordinated drawings, specifications, schedules and presentations
  • Proactively resolve technical issues, coordinating with MEP, architects, manufacturing and installation teams
  • Lead supplier engagement and negotiate technical solutions
  • Review tender information, proposed alternatives and VE options
  • Work with QS and Supply Chain to support accurate pricing and programme alignment

What We’re Looking For

  • Advanced Revit capability and ability to review complex technical packages
  • Strong knowledge of FF&E production, materials and installation methods
  • Deep understanding of sector requirements across education, defence, healthcare and commercial would be desirable
  • Confident presenter and communicator
  • Strong problem-solving ability and technical judgement
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and lead teams through detailed design stages
  • Ability to collaborate with Client team on risk, design changes and programme impact
