We’re looking for an Associate Field Services Technician to join our office in Leicester, UK. This is a full-time position. You’ll join an awesome team to support our growing operations.
About the role
We are looking for a hands-on IT Support Technician to join our team in Leicester, UK. In this role, you will be the go-to person for preparing essential equipment for new hires, handling break/fix issues, and ensuring our team members are fully equipped to succeed. If you are passionate about IT and enjoy a mix of technical troubleshooting and physical hardware management, we want to hear from you. This role is perfect for an IT professional with at least one year of experience who is comfortable with both remote support and the physical side of IT operations. You will play a key role in our European team, ensuring that as we grow, our employees have the hardware and support they need from day one. You will be responsible for preparing laptops, managing equipment shipping, and assisting with general IT troubleshooting. Additionally, you will gain exposure to acquisition integration projects as our business expands.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and configure new hardware (laptops/PCs) for incoming staff members.
- Manage the physical onboarding process, including shipping equipment to new hires.
- Provide break/fix support, diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues.
- Assist in coordinating and executing equipment replacements to minimize downtime.
- Contribute to acquisition integration tasks as required by the wider EU team.
- Build and maintain a shared knowledge base for common problem resolutions.
- Provide 2nd and 3rd line support for desktop and enterprise applications (printing, email, network connectivity, and remote access).
- Apply technical standards and document processes to ensure high-quality service.
- Manage assigned project tasks by prioritizing and tracking deliverables.
- Travel as required to support team needs.
About you
You have at least 1+ years of experience in an IT support role and possess a solid foundation in computer basics, including Microsoft Windows OS and Office. You are a natural troubleshooter who is comfortable physically handling equipment and managing the end-to-end process of preparing and shipping gear. You take pride in your work, have strong attention to detail, and understand the importance of clear communication when onboarding new employees. You are a team player who can build great relationships with customers and third-party vendors.
Required Skills:
- PC hardware setup and configuration.
- Strong diagnostic and analytical troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with technical documentation.
- Proficiency in supporting enterprise desktop applications.
To be ahead of the pack, you might have:
- Previous experience in an EU-wide IT support team.
- Familiarity with logistics or shipping procedures for IT hardware.
