ABOUT THE ROLE The National Retail Manager is responsible for driving retail sales growth across the UK through the leadership of the Business Development Manager (BDM) team, ownership of key strategic retail

- Lead and develop the UK sales team by coaching Sales Managers, driving accountability, and ensuring delivery of sales targets through performance management and field coaching.
- Build a high-performance sales culture focused on growth, effective territory management, and consistent execution across the BDM network.
- Own and grow strategic retail partnerships with key groups, consortia, and head offices, including joint business planning and senior stakeholder engagement.
- Drive channel growth by managing homeworker and consortium relationships, identifying new partnership opportunities, and increasing engagement and sales.
- Deliver retail sales growth initiatives in collaboration with Marketing and Commercial teams, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
- Manage key partner programmes including VIP partnerships, incentives, and engagement strategies to strengthen loyalty, advocacy, and revenue.
- Oversee events and educational programmes such as FAM trips, roadshows, and trade events, ensuring strong commercial outcomes and ROI.
- Support group sales development by collaborating internally and enabling retail partners to identify and convert group business opportunities.
- Provide insight and performance analysis through market intelligence, competitor tracking, and regular reporting with actionable recommendations to senior leadership.
- Experienced senior sales leader (BDM, National Account Manager or Head of Retail Sales level) within the travel industry.
- Well-connected across the UK travel trade, with strong credibility and an established professional network.
- Proven track record of driving sales growth through successful retail and partnership strategies.
- Experienced in leading, coaching and developing high-performing sales teams.
- Commercially astute negotiator with a strong understanding of market dynamics and opportunity identification.
- Skilled in managing key accounts, including major consortia and head office relationships.
- Confident communicator and presenter, able to influence stakeholders at all levels using data-driven insights.
- Results-driven, proactive and resilient, with a growth mindset and a hands-on, relationship-led approach to winning new business.
