Job Summary: The QHSE Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, enhancing and maintaining the organisation’s Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental management systems. The role ensures compliance with legal, regulatory, and company requirements while promoting a strong QHSE culture across all operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Quality Management
- Develop, implement, and maintain systems and protocols in line with all ISO or equivalent.
- Ensure products and services meet customer and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct internal audits and manage corrective and preventive actions.
- Health & Safety
- Establish and enforce occupational health and safety policies.
- Ensure compliance with local HSE legislation and international standards (e.g., ISO 45001).
- Conduct risk assessments, hazard identification, and safety investigations.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses.
- Organise safety training and toolbox talks.
- Environmental Management
- Develop and maintain Environmental Management Systems (EMS) in line with ISO.
- Monitor environmental performance, waste management, and emissions.
- Ensure compliance with environmental laws.
- Promote environmental awareness and sustainability.
- Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure compliance with all applicable legal, regulatory, and customer requirements.
- Prepare and submit QHSE reports, KPIs, and management reviews.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities, certification bodies, and external stakeholders.
- Manage QHSE documentation and records.
- Leadership & Culture
- Promote a positive QHSE culture across the company.
- Provide guidance and coaching to staff at all levels.
- Lead QHSE meetings and participate in management meetings.
- Support contractor and supplier QHSE evaluations.
- Foster and promote a strong safety culture.
- Support the development and implementation of effective measurement systems to accurately monitor H&S.
- Promote company values in all dealings with other employees, clients, sub-contractors, and external parties.
- Accreditation Management
- Manage the annual renewal process for all company accreditations.
- Track and manage all items related to company accreditations.
- Actively pursue and obtain new accreditations as required to support business growth and compliance.
Qualifications & Experience
- Professional certifications NEBOSH accompanied by IOSH, ISO Lead Auditor, or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a QHSE or HSE management role.
- Full knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and applicable standards.
