My client are seeking an experienced and skilled HVAC Engineer to join their team on a full-time basis. The HVAC Engineer will have a strong background in HVAC systems, with particular expertise in AHU maintenance and commercial building maintenance. You will play a crucial role in maintaining and optimizing the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in a key contract based in Slough. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the comfort, safety, and energy efficiency of buildings under your care.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment, including air handling units (AHUs), chillers, boilers, and cooling towers.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with HVAC systems, providing timely and effective solutions.
- Perform energy audits and recommend energy-efficient improvements to existing HVAC systems.
AHU Maintenance
A significant portion of the HVAC Engineer's responsibilities will involve the maintenance and optimization of Air Handling Units (AHUs). This includes:
- Conducting regular inspections of AHUs to ensure proper functioning of all components.
- Cleaning and replacing air filters as needed.
- Checking and adjusting belts, bearings, and other moving parts.
- Calibrating and testing control systems.
- Monitoring and optimizing airflow and temperature settings.
- Identifying and addressing potential issues before they escalate.
- Implementing energy-saving strategies to improve AHU efficiency.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years experience as a HVAC Engineer.
- City & Guilds Level 2 or 3 in a Mechanical Discipline.
- City & Guilds Level 2 in AC & Refrigeration (Desirable).
- F Gas Cat 1 (Desirable).
- Full UK Drivers Licence.
