About the Position

My client is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Facilities Manager to join their team. The Facilities Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the facility operations, ensuring a safe, efficient, and productive work environment for all employees and visitors. This role requires a professional with a strong background in building management, excellent leadership skills, and a deep understanding of building codes, safety regulations, and environmental compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive facility management strategies to optimize building operations, maintenance, and resource utilization.
  • Oversee the maintenance, repair, and renovation of all building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and structural components.
  • Manage and coordinate the work of internal maintenance staff and external contractors to ensure timely completion of projects and repairs.
  • Develop and maintain preventive maintenance schedules for all building systems and equipment to minimize downtime and extend asset life.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, safety regulations, and environmental standards through regular inspections and audits.
  • Develop and manage the facilities budget, including forecasting, cost control, and financial reporting.
  • Implement and maintain effective safety programs to minimize workplace hazards and promote a culture of safety among all employees.
  • Oversee security systems and procedures to protect the facility, its occupants, and assets.
  • Manage space planning and allocation to optimize workspace utilization and accommodate changing organizational needs.
  • Coordinate with various departments to address their facility-related needs and ensure smooth operations.
  • Develop and implement energy conservation measures and sustainability initiatives to reduce environmental impact and operating costs.
  • Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts for services such as cleaning, waste management, and landscaping.
  • Respond to and manage emergency situations related to facility operations, ensuring minimal disruption to business activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of all facility-related activities, including maintenance logs, inspection reports, and project documentation.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in facility management to continuously improve operations.

Required Qualifications

  • Relevant qualification in Facility Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a facilities management role.
  • Proficient knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and environmental compliance standards.
  • Exceptional leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing facility-related issues.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and projects effectively.
  • Proficiency in using facility management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
