Our client is a leading M&E building services provider, delivering mechanical and electrical engineering, maintenance and facilities services across a diverse portfolio of commercial properties throughout London and the south east. Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced Commercial Gas Engineer to join their mobile engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified engineer looking for a stable, long-term position with a respected building services organisation.
The Role
As a Mobile Commercial Gas Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs, servicing and fault finding across a range of commercial sites throughout London. You will work as part of an established mobile engineering team, providing a high standard of technical service to clients and ensuring all works are completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with relevant legislation and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out PPM, reactive maintenance, servicing and repairs on commercial gas and heating systems.
- Diagnose and rectify faults on commercial gas appliances and associated plant.
- Maintain and service commercial boilers, burners, heating systems and associated mechanical equipment.
- Complete gas safety checks and ensure systems operate safely and efficiently.
- Carry out planned maintenance in accordance with contractual requirements.
- Respond to reactive breakdowns and emergency maintenance requests when required.
- Complete accurate service reports, job sheets and maintenance records.
- Liaise professionally with clients, site teams and other engineers.
- Identify additional works and report any defects or remedial requirements.
- Ensure all works comply with current Gas Safety Regulations, Health & Safety legislation and company procedures.
- Work alongside mechanical and electrical engineers as part of the wider M&E team.
- Maintain company tools, equipment and vehicle to a high standard.
- Travel between commercial sites across London and Greater London.
Requirements
- Commercial Gas ACS qualifications β essential.
- Relevant commercial gas qualifications, including COCN1 / CODNCO1 or equivalent.
- Experience working as a commercial gas engineer within building services, facilities management or commercial maintenance.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Experience with commercial boilers, burners and heating systems.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Good customer-facing and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a mobile workload.
- Strong understanding of health & safety and gas legislation.
- A professional approach with the ability to represent the company positively on client sites.
Desirable
- Experience working across commercial offices, retail, healthcare, education or other commercial environments.
- Additional mechanical qualifications.
- Experience with BMS-controlled heating systems.
- F-Gas or additional HVAC qualifications.
- Experience within a hard FM / M&E maintenance environment.
Package
- Β£55,000 β Β£60,000 basic salary
