Key Responsibilities of a Digital Forensic Consultant:
- Lead forensic investigations independently, ensuring best practices in evidence handling and analysis.
- Perform digital collections both remotely and onsite, using industry-standard tools.
- Analyse data from a wide range of digital sources (mobile, desktop, laptop, servers).
- Prepare thorough, well-structured forensic reports suitable for legal and non-technical audiences.
- Present findings to clients and help translate technical conclusions into business-relevant language.
- Attend client sites for collections when needed - frequency may vary (e.g., none for two weeks, then three in one week).
Key Requirements of a Digital Forensic Consultant:
- Demonstrated experience running digital forensic investigations from start to finish.
- Proficiency with key forensic tools (e.g., Cellebrite, EnCase, FTK, X-Ways, Magnet AXIOM).
- Strong knowledge of Windows, Mac, and Linux systems from a forensic perspective.
