A dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant is required to support a Lower KS2 pupil with Autism in a Coventry primary school. This is a rewarding opportunity to provide personalised support, ensuring the pupil can access learning, build confidence, and thrive in a nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work on a 1:1 basis with a Lower KS2 pupil with Autism, tailoring support to individual needs.
  • Implement structured routines and strategies to promote engagement and progress.
  • Support communication, social interaction, and emotional regulation in line with SEN best practice.
  • Collaborate closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider school staff to adapt lessons and monitor progress.
  • Promote inclusion and positive behaviour management within the classroom.
  • Uphold safeguarding and compliance standards at every stage of pupil support.
Candidate Requirements
  • Proven experience working in UK primary schools (essential).
  • Strong understanding of Autism and strategies for supporting pupils with ASC.
  • Experience delivering 1:1 support and managing challenging behaviour positively.
  • Empathetic, patient, and resilient approach to working with primary-age pupils.
  • Enhanced DBS and references (APT Education will support with compliance).
  • A genuine passion for supporting pupils of primary age and helping them achieve their potential.
