SEN Department Lead - Full Time - September Start - Milton Keynes

Are you an experienced SEN professional ready to lead a high‑performing SEN department this September? This full‑time SEN Department Lead role is perfect for a passionate educator with strong SEN experience, excellent behaviour management, and a proven track record supporting pupils with high‑complex needs.

This position combines SEN leadership with 2 days of SEN teaching, giving you the opportunity to shape whole‑school SEN strategy while staying connected to the classroom.

Key Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - essential for the SEN Department Lead role
  • Strong background in SEN, SEN teaching, and SEN leadership
  • Experience supporting pupils with high‑complex needs, Autism, ADHD, SEMH, MLD/SLD
  • Excellent behaviour management and confidence leading SEN provision
  • Proven experience in a SEN setting, SEN school, or inclusive mainstream environment
  • Ability to lead, coach and develop SEN staff and SEN Teaching Assistants
About the SEN Department Lead Role
  • Full‑time SEN Department Lead position starting September
  • Includes 2 days SEN teaching each week
  • Lead the SEN team, oversee EHCPs, coordinate provision and drive SEN strategy
  • Work closely with SLT to raise standards in SEN teaching and SEN support
  • Support families, external agencies and multi‑disciplinary teams
