APT Education is recruiting a committed, confident and adaptable Key Stage 2 Teacher in Northampton (NN2) for a full-time maternity cover starting October half term. This large, welcoming Primary school in Northampton is looking for a KS2 specialist who can deliver high-quality teaching, build strong relationships, and support pupils with a range of additional needs.
The class has 28 pupils, including children with ADHD, cognitive needs, and occasional behavioural challenges. You will be supported by two Teaching Assistants in class, alongside a supportive SLT who value consistency, communication and teamwork.
About the Role – Key Stage 2 Teacher (Northampton NN2)As a KS2 Teacher in Northampton, you will:
- Teach a well-established Key Stage 2 class of 28 pupils
- Deliver planning already in place, with some tweaking and adaptation required
- Support pupils with ADHD, cognitive needs, and behavioural challenges
- Work closely with two Teaching Assistants to provide targeted support
- Create a calm, structured and engaging learning environment
- Work collaboratively with a supportive SLT who champion staff wellbeing
- Provide consistency, clear routines and strong behaviour management

What We’re Looking For- Qualified Primary Teacher (Primary QTS required)
- Strong KS2 experience
- Confidence supporting pupils with ADHD, cognitive needs, and behavioural challenges
- Ability to adapt planning and differentiate effectively
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A calm, consistent and positive classroom presence
- Valid DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
- Highly competitive weekly PAYE pay
