APT Education is recruiting a resilient, patient and committed SEN Teaching Assistant in Kettering to work 1:1 with pupils with additional needs at a large, welcoming Primary school. This full-time September start role involves supporting pupils with challenging behaviour, Autism, ADHD, behavioural needs, and non-verbal communication needs.

About the Role – SEN Teaching Assistant (Kettering)

As a SEN Teaching Assistant in Kettering, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs
  • Support pupils with Autism, ADHD, behavioural needs, and non-verbal communication
  • Use visuals, routines and calm communication strategies
  • Assist with emotional regulation and de-escalation
  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider SLT
  • Create a safe, structured and positive learning environment

This role suits someone confident, nurturing and able to manage challenging behaviour with consistency and care.

What We’re Looking For
  • Experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant or supporting pupils with additional needs
  • Confidence supporting challenging behaviour
  • Experience with Autism, ADHD, behavioural needs, or non-verbal pupils
  • Strong communication and de-escalation skills
  • A patient, resilient and calm approach
  • Valid DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
