Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding new role in Coventry? We are seeking a dedicated professional to join a Primary SEN Unit this January, supporting pupils with a wide range of needs in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
About the Role
This is a full-time position working in a specialist SEN classroom where learning is continuous throughout the day. You will play a vital role in supporting pupils with:
- Autism (ASC)
- ADHD
- Behavioural needs
- Physically challenging behaviour
- Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD)
- Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
- Communication needs, including the use of Makaton
You will work closely with teachers and support staff to deliver tailored interventions, create a safe and engaging learning environment, and help pupils achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with diverse SEN needs.
- Use strategies such as Makaton, visual aids, and assistive technology to enhance communication.
- Support behaviour management using positive and proactive approaches.
- Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs and ensure inclusion.
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and families to track progress and share strategies.
- Promote independence, confidence, and emotional regulation in pupils.

- Proven experience working with pupils in a UK Primary or SEN school.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships.
