Teaching, Learning and Assessment
- Planning and preparing teaching and learning programmes for groups and individuals.
- Teaching according to the educational needs of the students in your programme, including setting and marking work to be carried out by the students.
- Developing and using a range of teaching and learning techniques.
- Managing the learning process and establishing an effective learning environment.
- Managing the integration of new technologies and key skills in taught sessions.
- Providing or contributing to oral and written assessments, reports and references relating to individual students and groups of students.
- Participating in arrangements for preparing students for public examinations and assessing them for such examinations; recording and reporting such assessments; and participating in arrangements for students’ presentation for and supervision during such examinations.

- Be flexible and responsible when preparing and delivering the new curriculum.
- Stay current with sector changes, such as entry requirements and standards, and adjust your curriculum accordingly.
Discipline, Health and Safety
- Maintaining good order and discipline among the students and safeguarding their health and safety when at partner school premises and in authorised out-of-partner school activities elsewhere.

Cover
- Supervising and providing work for any student whose teacher is not available to teach them within the APST partner schools' guidelines, as far as practicable.
Administration
- Participating in administrative and organisational tasks related to the abovementioned duties.
- Attending partner school functions in support of APST, as appropriate.
- Lead the recruitment of future students through attendance at all appropriate open evenings, presentations in year 11 form classes.
- Develop and market the APST programme as required within local partner schools.
- Attend open days, marketing events, and parents’ evenings as required.
Summary of Main Terms and Conditions
- Qualified Teacher. Currently £28,000 - £38,810.
- Unqualified Teacher. Currently £20,598 - £32,134.
- Your salary will be paid on the last working day of each month by BACS transfer.
Working Hours
- You will be required to be at your designated APST Education and Training partner school between 8:15 – 16:45 on teaching days during term time (as per the specific requirements of your partner school).
- On non-teaching days, you are permitted to work flexibly, whether on-site or from home.
- You are expected to attend an APST weekly departmental meeting, held either in person or virtually.
- You will be required to attend all after-school events at your partner school.
Place of Work
- APST Education and Training operate in multiple partner school establishments on THE WIRRAL AND CHESTER. You will be required to work from a designated partner school site during term time, with attendance at another site as required.
Pension Scheme
- You will automatically become a member of the Workplace Pension Scheme.
Safeguarding
- We are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all students, staff, and visitors. All posts are subject to enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance.
- All shortlisted applicants will be asked to complete a self‑declaration of any criminal record or information that will make them unsuitable to work with children.
- Any offer of employment may be withdrawn should any information come to light that has not been included in the self‑declaration.
- Additionally, you will be required to undertake any safeguarding training or updates across all our partner schools.
Paid Holiday Entitlement
- You are entitled to a minimum of 5.6 weeks or 39.2 days statutory holidays as applicable from time to time.
- All holidays will automatically coincide with the periods of closure within APST Education and Training, our partner schools, and public holidays.
- No holidays and leave are permitted during term-time.

- You will have regular reviews to assess your progress and set mutually agreed targets.
