Responsibilities:
- Serve as a subject matter expert on the commercial insurance policy lifecycle, including quoting, binding, endorsements, renewals, and cancellations.
- Analyze and document business processes, identifying areas for improvement and automation within our Policy Administration System.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, refine, and document business requirements for system enhancements and new projects.
- Translate business needs into clear, concise functional and technical specifications for our development teams.
- Act as a liaison between business users and IT teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment on project goals.
- Support system testing, including creating test cases, performing user acceptance testing (UAT), and validating system functionality against business requirements.
- Provide training and support to business users on new system features and processes.
- Utilize SQL to query data, analyze system behaviour, and support reporting needs.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in commercial insurance and Policy Administration Systems.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst in the commercial insurance sector is required.
- Extensive knowledge of the end-to-end commercial insurance policy lifecycle.
- Hands-on experience with Policy Administration Systems is a must.
- Strong understanding of insurance business processes and workflows.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in writing clear and comprehensive business and functional requirements.
- Experience with Agile or other project management methodologies.
- Strong SQL knowledge for data analysis and querying is highly beneficial.
- A bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
