What you’ll be doing:

  • Own design end-to-end within our core payments product - from early problem framing through to shipped, polished experiences that raise the visual and interaction bar at Apron.
  • Actively suggest product improvements to enhance user experience and drive innovation, working closely with product managers and cross-functional teams.
  • Design interfaces that are both functional and delightful for genuinely complex financial workflows.
  • Contribute to and help maintain a design system that promotes consistency and scalability across the product.
  • Coach and guide other designers, raising the quality bar across the team through feedback, process improvements and documented design knowledge.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor products, and emerging design patterns to ensure the product remains competitive and innovative.
  • Continuously seek feedback, review design processes, and implement improvements to enhance the design workflow and deliver high-quality products.
  • Collaborate with UX researchers to gather user insights, analyse data, and translate findings into actionable design improvements.

What you’ll need:

  • 5+ years of product design experience, ideally in a B2B context.
  • Proven ability to design end-to-end across large, ambiguous product areas - not just features.
  • Strong systems thinker - comfortable with high-abstract tasks and system-level decisions.
  • A portfolio of 2-3 cases that demonstrate strategic impact, not just execution - show us where your design influenced product direction.
  • Natural collaborator who co-leads with PMs rather than waiting for direction.
  • Someone who raises the bar around them - through feedback, documentation and design culture.
