Based in our Preparation Centre workshop you will carry out routine maintenance and repairs on short‑ and long‑term hire machines and customer‑owned equipment, and prepare new, used and demonstration equipment to service our customer, sales and distributor base.
Core Activities
- Inspect trucks arriving at the depot and, together with the Workshop Manager, carry out all agreed repairs.
- Ensure all completed trucks are correctly inspected prior to leaving the depot and that a valid LOLER inspection is carried out.
- Identify any damage on trucks returning from hire and advise the Workshop Manager promptly.
- Inspect trucks returning from hire that are not due to re‑enter service, noting faults on the machine and estimating repair time.
- Complete pre‑delivery inspections on all new equipment to preset standards before dispatch to customers or dealers.
- Maintain and prepare demo fleet equipment as required for customer/dealer needs.
- Maintain charge levels of traction batteries for the stock of electric‑powered equipment.
- Unload trucks, equipment, batteries, chargers and related items for the department.
- Inspect arriving equipment and produce a goods‑received note.
- Keep non‑utilised/recoverable time to a minimum by liaising closely with the Workshop Manager and planning workload.
- Submit detailed parts requisitions, ensuring complete information for computer job records and that parts are ordered accurately and timely.
- Work largely unsupervised, using own initiative while maintaining Impact Handling quality standards.
- Report any defective tooling or equipment to the Workshop Manager immediately.
- Project a good image of yourself and Impact Handling to customers at all times, wearing the supplied company uniform.
- Fully complete all documentation (job sheets, time sheets, etc.) in accordance with ISO9001:2000 procedures.
- Keep the work area clean, tidy and organised in line with ISO14001 standards.
- Pass all documentation to the service department promptly.
- Work safely in accordance with Impact Handling Safe Working Practice and health & safety standards.
- Attend internal and external training courses to meet business and health & safety requirements.
- Perform any other reasonable duties as required within the scope of your knowledge, skills and ability.
