About the Role

We are actively recruiting a Depot Manager to work within a busy depot environment. The role involves managing the depot, its facilities, people, customers and profit, and overseeing health, safety, environment, service, after‑sales, rental, administration, reporting, compliance and budgets.

Qualities and Experience Required

  • Background in materials handling or a similar engineering field.
  • Minimum of service manager experience, preferably senior management experience.
  • Experience managing a remote workforce.
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and organise teams and promote communication and performance.
  • Commercial outlook and mindset focused on profitable growth of the depot and wider company/group.
  • Planning and forecasting skills across financial, workforce, after‑sales and service aspects.
  • Commitment to maintaining high levels of health and safety.

Core Responsibilities

  • Oversee depot operations, facilities and staff.
  • Maintain health, safety and environment standards.
  • Manage service, after‑sales, rental and administration activities.
  • Ensure accurate reporting, compliance and budget control.
  • Interact with customers, engineers, sales, service management and inter‑company colleagues.
  • Focus on meeting or exceeding customer requirements and expectations.
  • Drive profitability while offering first‑class service.
