We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join aPriori’s growing Data Platform Team, building and evolving a modern, scalable data platform which will leverage aPriori’s proprietary data to deliver powerful insights and AI capabilities.
Job Type: Full‑time
Location: Belfast, Northern Ireland (Hybrid)
Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain data APIs, semantic layers, and curated data products to enable downstream analytics and AI capabilities.
- Partner with Product Management and product teams to translate requirements into scalable data solutions that address internal and external business needs.
- Model and structure complex engineering and simulation datasets for analytics, AI/ML, and product integration use cases.
- Collaborate closely with Data Engineers, AI Engineers, BI Engineers, and Software Engineers across adjacent product teams to deliver robust, production‑grade data capabilities.
- Partner with QA and business stakeholders to support data-driven initiatives, ensuring solutions are reliable, well‑tested, and aligned with customer and organisational needs.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure‑as‑code, and DevOps best practices for data services.
- Ensure data integrity, quality, and efficiency by applying best practices and tools.
- Explore and implement new tools and techniques in data architecture and processing.
Requirements:
- Strong hands‑on experience in data engineering or software engineering roles.
- Experience with modern cloud data platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Hands‑on experience with data pipeline orchestration and ETL/ELT tools (e.g. Airflow, Temporal, dbt, Airbyte, Fivetran, or similar).
- Strong understanding of data quality practices, including validation, testing, and monitoring of production data pipelines.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Strong experience in database and data warehouse design, including modern architectural patterns such as Medallion, Data Mesh, or similar distributed data models.
- Highly proficient in Python and SQL.
Desirable:
- Experience building data products or customer‑facing analytics platforms.
- Experience with traditional AI/ML/MLOps or GenAI, LLMOps.
Education And Experience:
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years’ experience in data engineering or similar role.
- Demonstrated experience delivering production‑grade data pipelines and platforms in a product‑led environment.
