Job Description
We are working with a reputable client based in Pontefract who require a professional Upholsterer to join their team.
The position is a permanent role paying up to £14.85 per hour (DOE).
- Working Hours: Monday - Thursday 7.00am - 4.30pm + Friday 7.00am - 11.00am
- Holidays - 23 Days + Bank Holidays (31 in total)
- Monthly Bonus Scheme - paid when meeting individual production targets
- Annual Discretionary Bonus - upto 10% of Annual Salary (twice per year)
Key Responsibilities
- Upholster a wide range of furniture, working from the initial frame through to the completed, finished product.
- Use a variety of upholstery and workshop equipment, including staple guns, drills and hand tools, to manufacture high-quality furniture.
- Accurately interpret and follow upholstery specifications, technical drawings and production instructions.
- Carry out repairs, alterations and re-upholstery work on existing furniture as required.
- Maintain consistently high standards of workmanship while working efficiently to meet agreed deadlines.
- Work collaboratively with the wider production team to ensure production schedules and targets are achieved.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment, following all company Health & Safety procedures and taking responsibility for your own safety and that of others.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in furniture upholstery, ideally with a minimum of 1 years relevant experience.
- Good knowledge of upholstery techniques, including cutting, sewing, padding, webbing, fitting and finishing.
- Confident and competent in the safe and correct use of upholstery tools, equipment and machinery.
- Strong attention to detail, with a focus on achieving high-quality finishes and consistently high standards of workmanship.
- Good problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with complex, bespoke or challenging furniture pieces.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet production deadlines.
