Low volume, high variance designer & manufacturer of specialist products, with customers across the globe is investing heavily in R&D. With new product lines coming into production they are looking to add to their close knit team. Info about what the Production Controller role entails

This is a key and critical role in the business. With recent R&D & innovation you will be responsible for coordination and communication of product changes in the business. You will work across functional teams both internally and externally to ensure optimised implementation, and full traceability of engineering changes. Working in a low volume, high variance environment the business does about 150 changes per year. Change needs to be managed carefully with production, quality, suppliers and compliance amongst others impacted – the Production Controller will play a key role in this.

Essential Requirements of the Production Controller

  • Joining this close knit team you will be a personable character with good communication skills.
  • Managing production change you will have experience - understanding of manufacturing processes, change and the impact that will have in other areas of the business.
  • Adaptable, able to read engineering drawings, almost like the gate keeper managing the change process - BoMs, suppliers (value engineering), documentation, process, regulatory, marketing...etc.
  • Understand of electronics BoMs – EG you will know about resistors, capacitors, semiconductors etc.
  • Good analytical skills, able to run reports, gather data, report for production lines to avoid downtime.

Desirable Requirements of the Production Controller

  • Low volume, high variance manufacturing experience.
  • Lean / continuous improvement tools & techniques in low volume high value production/manufacturing environment.
