Would you enjoy combining hands-on purchasing with leading a small warehouse team?
An established engineering manufacturer is looking for a Supply Chain Lead to manage purchasing, maintain material availability and improve the flow of components through to production.
Working directly with the Site Operations Manager, you'll oversee supplier relationships, inventory and a warehouse team of two to three people.
This Supply Chain Lead opportunity would suit an experienced Buyer or Senior Buyer ready to broaden their responsibilities and move into team leadership.
What you'll be doing as a Supply Chain Lead
- Managing purchasing and supplier order books, monitoring delivery, quality and cost performance.
- Expediting critical components and resolving shortages to keep production supplied.
- Maintaining appropriate stock levels, coordinating cycle counts and investigating stock discrepancies.
- Overseeing goods-in, stores and material replenishment to the production floor.
- Maintaining accurate ERP purchasing and inventory data, including supplier lead times and replenishment settings.
- Leading and developing the warehouse team, setting priorities and improving day-to-day material flow.
- Working closely with Production, Engineering and Quality, including supporting the planned move to Microsoft Dynamics 365.
Production scheduling remains with the Production Supervisor; your planning responsibility will focus on ensuring materials are available to meet build requirements.

You could be a Buyer or Senior Buyer looking for a step up, with practical experience purchasing components for engineering manufacturing or assembly.
You'll need
- Recent buying experience in a relevant manufacturing environment, ideally involving electronic, electrical, mechanical or moulded components.
