Apricus Resourcing are working with an award winning, independent healthcare supplier who are looking to recruit Prison Cleared Pharmacy Technicians for a prison in Liverpool. Within your role you will be working within a busy medicines management department helping with reconciliation tasks and liaising with Primary Care and General Practitioners to optimise patient’s care. You will also have a senior responsibility for controlled drug stock control and management.
Your main duties within the role will include supporting the chief pharmacist in supporting the medicines management team and liaising with other healthcare professionals both internally and externally. You will also assist in the delivery of training to prison health care staff and GPs, to ensure that medicine optimisation services provided to patients are of a consistently high standard across the organisation.
Responsibilities- To establish effective working relationships with the pharmacy team, GPs, non-medical prescribers and all other members of the health care team to promote the objectives of prison healthcare.
- To represent the organisation at prison-related public awareness events when required in order to promote a partnership approach to medicines optimisation.
- Help with reconciliation tasks.
- Work as a valued member of the MDT whilst building lasting relationships with key stakeholders, including external agencies, to assist in ensuring the delivery of safe and effective health and social care.
In order to be considered for the role you will need to have a BTEC or equivalent in pharmaceutical sciences along with an appropriate accredited technician checking qualification. Other key desirables are a knowledge and passion for pharmacy legal requirements and controlled drug legislation and substance misuse knowledge, and at least 1 year’s experience of working in a prison. You will also need a current prison clearance.
The working hours for the shifts are either 8am‑6pm midweek and 9am‑5pm on weekends with hourly rates of £23.65/h midweek and £25.44/h for weekends.
