Apricus Resourcing are working with a leading charity who are searching for an Non Qualified IDVA/IDVSA for a role based from Whitechapel but also covering the Newham area.

The position available is a 2-month rolling locum role.

Within your role as an IDVA within this service you will be attending and working in partnership with MARACs, MASH, Police, Slough VAWG+ Group & Domestic Abuse Network Meetings in order to provide vital emotional and practical support to victims and survivors.

You will need to have demonstrable experience within IDVA/IDVSA services, ideally you will have experience with best practice risk assessments (DASH), safety planning and advocacy essential.

Experience with their case management system (In Form) desirable.

Key responsibilities

  • The IDVA will manage high profile / intensive case work.
  • To ensure that Safe Lives DASH Risk assessment, Individual Safety & Support Plan, Severity of Abuse Grid are in place and reviewed 6 weekly to support the client.
  • Domestic violence, legal advice, housing needs, tenancy support, support of children, access to learning or employment dependent on the individual’s aspirations and needs.
  • Ensure that identified support targets have been met in conjunction with other agencies delivering care and support services to clients.
  • To ensure that support planning is outcome focused and that clients inform the type and level of support that they receive.
  • To ensure as far as possible that a seamless service is being delivered by working closely with other support providers to have a joined up approach to addressing support needs.
  • To provide practical and emotional support to women and men applying the principles of effective casework when supporting survivors of domestic and sexual violence at the highest risk and their children and to advocate for survivors to ensure their needs are met.
  • To establish the risks to and the needs of survivors of domestic and sexual violence, identifying and prioritising those at the highest risk.
