Apricus Resourcing are working with an award winning, independent healthcare supplier who are looking to recruit a Pharmacy Technician for an ongoing contract role within one of the prisons they operate in Humber, Yorkshire. The role is based with a client who delivers a range of healthcare services on behalf of the NHS, Local Authority Public Health services, and other partners.
Within your role you will be working within a busy medicines management department helping with reconciliation tasks and liaising with Primary Care and General Practitioners to optimise patient care. You will also have a senior responsibility for Controlled drug stock control and management.
Your main duties within the role will include supporting the chief pharmacist in the medicines management team and liaising with other healthcare professionals both internally and externally. You will also assist in the delivery of training to prison health care staff and GPs, to ensure that medicine optimisation services provided to patients are of a consistently high standard across the organisation.
- To establish effective working relationships with the pharmacy team, GPs, non-medical prescribers and all other members of the health care team to promote the objectives of prison healthcare.
- To represent the organisation at prison-related public awareness events when required in order to promote a partnership approach to medicine optimisation.
